I've gotta hunch, it's that she's unbaptized, but he's attracted to her and can't entirely help himself. He wants to do what's natural, but he knows the pending consequences, such as tarnishing his standing within the congregation/circuit, and possibly a Local Needs talk for marking purposes. We just had a similar situaion locally, and from what I gather it's happening across the circuit with baptized publishers actively dating nonJWs or unbaptized publishers. It's amazining how a man-made religion can take something as natural as attraction and dating, and then turn it into something tabboo making everybody's lives complicated.

Can someone help me understand how this young man thinks?
by camicia inmy daughter is unbaptized but is recognized as jw since she goes out door to door.
a baptized brother in high standing took some interest in her (staring, flirting, hanging about, hugging while intoxicated then keeping his distance before going back again and then withdrawing again ) and she ended up getting emotionally attached to this jerk & let him know.
in between long drawn out silences he turned her down, saying "i don't know you" though he'd had long conversations with her (though would ignore her the following day after they had any close alone time) she said "all the jw stuff aside, did you ever like me as well?

I'm curious, any of you ever wean off of an antidepressant? If so, what side effects did you experience? Any significant emotional changes?
by La Falta Habitacion Por Sr Hor-Hey!! ini'm asking this because i just weaned off of paroxetine (paxil) successfully.
i say successfully because i'm not naseous or dealing with tremors, however that's not to say everything is peachy.
i've felt within my brain something like pulses from time to time, as if my brain jumped with no rhyme or reason.

I'm asking this because I just weaned off of Paroxetine (Paxil) successfully. I say successfully because I'm not naseous or dealing with tremors, however that's not to say everything is peachy. I've felt within my brain something like pulses from time to time, as if my brain jumped with no rhyme or reason. I did some research and found out that this is commonly labeled as, brain zaps. Sometimes I feel it in my head only, other times the weird shocking sensation travels through my arms and legs. From what I've read, it's not permanent to experience these zaps, so at least I can look forward to it disapating somewhere down the road.
What's really bugging me out though, is my emotional state. My emotional pendulum is swinging from anger to mild frustration, to numbness. All day yesterday, I felt a frustration and rage that I cannot fathom. I just wanted to step into the middle of the courtyard adjacent to this office building, strip down to my boxers and just scream profanities at the top of my lungs, or find the nearest person who appears to be able to reasonably defend themselves and beat them senseless. Today however, I feel numb, and my concentration is way off. It's like I look at the work on my desk and momentarily I feel a slight panic because I don't know what I'm supposed to do, and then almost miraculously it comes back to me.
When I was on Paxil, my sex drive was null and void, although my appreciation for a woman never strayed. Since coming off though, I'm ready to declare smashfest on Whoopi and see if she has earned the right to call herself, Whoopi. Yet, when I converse with attractive coworkers or sisters in the congregation, or even just to notice someone attractive walking down the street, I feel almost nothing, and what I do feel, seems abnormal. It reminds me at times of the camera effect used for weird psychological scenes in movies/television, where the camera zooms in rapidly upon a character's head/face, and then it does a weird shaking effect. That's how I feel at times since coming off this stuff when conversing with other people. Other times it's like they're talking to me or at me, and I have to force myself to concentrate and stop looking through them.
I imagine all of this is temporary and I'm learning to live life again without any assistance from a pill, but I'm curious as to whether any of you have experienced this or similar?
edit post: meant to add, I have a weird feeling of cockiness and this inkling to simply not give a damn about my actions, anybody experience that too? Almost as if you have no problem living wreckless?

Radiohead comes to mind. Considering the sound of their last five albums, they're a completely different sounding band than when they started out. OK Computer was like the bridge album between what was, and what was to be. Personally I think their catalogue is more relevant than any other modern band.
Ice Cube comes to mind too, but not just so for music. I remember the first time I saw the Straight Outta Compton video and was like . This angry man was mimicking the pump action of a shotgun all the while telling me, "When I'm called off, I gotta sawed off, squeeze the trigger and bodies are hauled off." I never would have thought that one day he'd be making comedy and action films some day, or even producing a television series for TBS. Sticking with music, never thought he'd make records to dance to either.
I guess when mentioning the early NWA days, one has to mention Dr.Dre. His sound from Straight Outta Compton, and how it progressed on efil4zaggiN, and then completely changed on The Chronic and Chronic 2001, Doggystyle, to what he does for other artists today, he's never stayed exactly the same. He really doesn't even have a signature sound like a DJ Premier (I love Primo by the way) per say. His sound has always been evolving.

Active Bethelites, former Bethelites, is it true that brothers are not allowed to have their head fully shaved?
by La Falta Habitacion Por Sr Hor-Hey!! ini just heard this directly from a circuit heavyweight i had the displeasure of conversing with recently.
he and i got into a little bit of a heated conversation about following the direction of the slave as related to education, and he used the example of bethelites being prohibited from having fully shaved heads.
he was taken aback when i expressed how utterly ridiculous such a policy was/is.

Indeed, and what makes it worse is that I happen to know that it was some elders wives who put them up to it. They were jealous - she was very pretty.
So typical, so very typical.

James, did she hang around the religion much longer after that incident? It's hilarious but sad at the same time. I'm pretty bad when it comes to wigs and toupees myself.

So looking cool like Issac Hayes and Yul Brenner is out? Ain't that a shame.
Or Michael Jordan and Vin Diesel, not to mention the former poster Miz as I heard he's a pretty good lookin shaved fellow.......
Dollars to doughnuts that the reason they frown upon it is because it would seem to emulate the Catholic religious orders that have done it for many centuries.
That would make some sense, in harmony with calling places of worship Kingdom Halls as opposed to Churches, Assemblies and Conventions as opposed to Revivals, or even the old nonsense about the Bulletin Board which I can't recall at this time. REgardless it's a really stupid asinine and backwards way of differentiating one religion from another. I can't help but think of a certain sister in our congregation who's made the comment on a few occasions that we should pray on the GB's behalf as they have important decisions to make. If that joke of an animated DVD and policy on facial hair is any indication, they're not worth praying over.

No head shaving according to my ex-elder hubbie. Some brothers cut it pretty close though. Even if you are bald, some hair must remain unless all your hair has fallen out or you have had cancer treatment.
Yes I think I remember that as being a rule. Some of my black friends hated it because they liked the clean shaven look and they got talked to when they did it.
Ridiculous. What's the reasoning behind this? Is there some obscure scripture I'm missing on this one? I swear they just randomly make retard crap up just to mess with people. Is this the sort of crap that they discuss on their Wednesday meetings? Just make up arbitrary and random rule without an ounce of common sense?

To tell you the truth, I don't really like this guy and I have a feeling he's going to be a thorn in my side in the near future, but time will tell. That being said, I'm not entirely convinced he was being truthful with me and he brought that up simply as a lame illustration to support blind obedience to the WT even when it's not remotely scriptural. I don't really trust this guy, and it wouldn't surprise me if he was embellishing a bit on the so called shaved head policy.
Is it true?

I watched about 2 minutes worth or so of the first link I saw, and this is downright embarrasing. For those in the know, when they announced that this DVD would be available after the program, did they encourage adults without children to get a copy? There's no way I'm gonna watch this entire thing. I'd rather catch AIDS, or a flesh eating bacteria. I can only imagine a year or two from now when there's a Q&A part on the Service Meeting based upon the view of this DVD. By the way..........a Special Edition on the cover? LOL, what does it have, hidden scenes or something LOL? SMH LOL
